Smoother surfaces, new roundabouts and pedestrian connections
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will open all seven miles of Highway 25 from Catlin Street in Buffalo to Kjellberg Court in south Monticello to all travelers by Friday afternoon, Oct. 23.
The detour will lift and crews will remove signs and traffic control devices next week.
The $11.4 million project restored the road surface through a recycling process that strengthens the pavement and reduces waste. The process creates a stronger, long‑lasting road.
Work included repairing drainage, improving several access points and adding three new single lane Highway 25 roundabouts at County Road 37, Catlin Street and County Road 113, which Wright County constructed. The project added new pedestrian sidewalks and a shared-use trail.
When driving through a roundabout, slow down, yield to traffic already inside, stay in your lane and watch for pedestrians in crosswalks. Learn more safety tips on driving roundabouts online.
MnDOT thanks travelers for their patience during this seven-month project. This amount of work could not have been completed in one season without the public’s support.
Travelers will notice a smoother road surface, better traffic flow, updated drainage and improved safety for motorists and pedestrians on Highway 25
